A visual artist and fine art photographer, Ann Brandeis seeks to create images that awaken visual reflections, which open up new thoughts and dialogues. Her ongoing project “The Landscape of Memory” evokes feelings of our past, and her current project “Drawn and Painted” visually explores this alternative lifestyle.

With an MFA in Photography from Pratt Institute, Ann has taught multiple levels of film and digital Photography as well as the History of Photography at several notable Universities, including Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), and Marymount Manhattan College where she is currently teaching in the Fine Art Department. Ann is also the author of Color Processing and Printing Prentice Hall, NY & Boston (out of print).

Her work has been exhibited in multiple galleries and institutions, including: Hampton Road Gallery, Southampton, Rivers-Deshuk Gallery, Bridgehampton, NY. Center for Fine Art Photography, Fort Collins, CO. The Durst Gallery NYC, NY. The Chelsea Art Walk, Chelsea, NY. Umbrella Arts Gallery, Chelsea, NY. Guild Hall East Hampton, NY.

Ann is the recipient of numerous awards, including multiple IPA, Lucie awards, 2008, 2007, PX3 Prix de la Photographie 2009, 2008, Society for Photographic Education Juror’s Award 2008, which was exhibited at Center for Fine Art in Photography.

She currently sits on the Board of Directors for PWP: Professional Women Photographers, and is a member of SPE, WIPI, AAEH.
